Stark Stuff

It’s funny that I often love stark photos. It certainly isn’t how I like to live. My apartment is filled with a variety of books and photos and other things—no blank walls here. When I look around I want my eyes to have a lot of choice, lots of places to land.

It also surprises me when I write stories or poems that are minimal, stark or dark. In real life I prefer humour and interesting detail.

Maybe it’s some deep psychological thing, or maybe it’s just a need for variety. Yes, I just like a mix.

Today, I’m liking stark, with a little bit of detritus.

Enjoy.

My book, Glass Bricks, is out (since April, 2021) and now available worldwide in/through your local bookstores or from https://atbaypress.com/books/detail/glass-bricks. The digital version will be out soon. If you go to the Published Writing & Photos page (in the menu) you can find out more about it, watch my launch, read a review, and listen to a radio interview. You can also read my writing/see my photos that were published in journals, etc.

  1. Should I say, “Stop,” I only want to look at nice pictures? Maybe I need to open my eyes to the stark.. You’ve created a challenge, Louella. A healthy challenge.
