Delicate Shadows

In late January, after a cold snap, the temperature rose to just above freezing, so I decided it was a good time to enjoy a photo wander.

I love the look of shadows, especially in fresh snow. So, that’s what caught my eye.

Every winter I take a new batch of photos involving dormant or dead plants in the snow, some without shadows and some with them. You would think I’d run out of new ways to see them, but I don’t.

Here’s a batch of dormant plants and their delicate shadows for you to enjoy.

  1. Thank you, Louella. I found your subject intriguing. At first, I thought I was viewing sewing needles on a pillow until I was able to comprehend what I was seeing. Very clever.
