The Shape of Trees

I love trees, with or without leaves. The vibrant shades of green in the spring. The cool shade on a hot summer day. The yellows, oranges, reds, and browns of autumn. The shelter on windy winter days.

I love the bones of them. The shapes against the sky or a snowy landscape.

It was a foggy winter day, with rime ice covering everything, when my eyes were drawn to these beauties.

    1. Thank you. I’m not a tree expert. But I think the first group of trees are tamaracks (I think they call them larch in other areas). They are a deciduous conifer and change to orange in the fall and lose their leaves. The last bunch are elms. Yes, they do look like they are stretching up to the sky. 😊
