A Rosy Glow

When you live in a rented apartment there are many things you have little control over, but you also don’t have to worry about paying repair bills for sudden issues. All you have to do is call the apartment manager and it’s their problem.

One of the things I don’t have much control over in my apartment is the placement of windows and the blinds. In my bedroom, the window is high up next to the ceiling and very close to one wall. This means there is a blind, but no room for a curtain rod.

During the long days of summer I want it to be a bit darker when I’m sleeping, so I knocked in a couple of nails and hooked up a red blanket over the blind.

The blanket has now faded to be more of a dark pink. The window faces west and when the sun comes around, in the evening, there are some interesting light patterns and a rosy glow.

Here are some shots. Enjoy!
