The Forest Floor

About a week ago, I went walking with a group of women in the Assiniboine Forest. It was a perfect day, not too hot or too cold. This forest, one of the largest urban nature parks of its kind, is on the southwest side of Winnipeg. It has lots of aspen and oak trees, many prairie wildflowers, fungi, and wet areas with bulrushes, etc. Here are just a few of the photos that I took, the ones showing what we saw on the forest floor.

Enjoy!

My book, Glass Bricks, is out (since April, 2021) and now available worldwide in/through your local bookstores or from https://atbaypress.com/books/detail/glass-bricks. The digital version will be out soon.

Here’s the video of the book launch for Glass Bricks through McNally Robinson Booksellers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=D1jRf9WKn_s

Here’s a review of the book on page 34. https://prairiebooksnow.ca/pdf/42389-PbN-78-spring-2021-web.p

Note: Amazon has incorrect information on their site. My publisher and I have tried, but we can’t get them to correct it. Sigh! The book is paperback and 93 pages (NOT a hardcover at 256 pages!!! And it has been available since April 2021).

  1. Beautiful. For some reason only the first picture came up on my cell, so I checked and on the computer there are lots of photos and they look great. Busy busy day. 💚
